WWE 'Survivor Series' 2016 results: Match winners, reaction & highlights

Story Time, a new animated short-form original series on WWE Network, will premiere this Sunday immediately following Survivor Series. The WWE Survivor Series 2016 matches are scheduled for the date November 20 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Likewise, over on SmackDown, Natalya (though it's not confirmed yet) taking out Nikki Bella and assuming the role of Captain will have repercussions on Tuesday nights. Team Raw will have The New Day, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, Cesaro and Sheamus, The Shining Stars and Enzo Amore and Big Cass. It was truly a main event caliber match, and I remember the hype I had 12 years ago being huge.

For Team Raw, Charlotte was chosen as the captain. WWE knows that Zayn is going to get a massive pop in Canada, so I believe they will give him his big moment.

Like the Miz, Brian Kendrick is also defending his title against the rival brand.

But over the years, despite the occasional spasm of life like when The Rock teamed with John Cena against The Miz and R-Truth back in 2011, Survivor Series has, well, only just about survived.

All of the top guys on both rosters are in this match. Watch out for Bray Wyatt in this match. However, it is still weird that they chose Shane McMahon to replace Baron Corbin as the fifth member of their team.

Over the past few weeks on RAW, the Samoan big dog has been pitted against Owens and his best-friend Chris Jericho who, if the rumors are true, will eventually become the Prized Fighter's opponent at Wrestlemania 32.

As Goldberg told the Inquisitr past year, he did not want to return to WWE and said if he ever returned to the genre, it would be on his terms. One thing is for certain, this match is going to be brutal. The entire reason Ambrose even came back out had nothing to do with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns and everything to do with his disdain for AJ Styles over what happened earlier in the match. It was a happy ending for Goldberg, and besides, it helped make Brock Lesnar seem more human than he has looked in recent months, with some viewers actually feeling a bit bad for him after tonight's match.

Brock Lesnar. Lesnar was manhandled by Goldberg and lost in stunning fashion.

Apparently, the only thing the WWE was/is anxious about is having Goldberg sign-off on him losing to Lesnar. Another win for RAW, I guess.

Another possibility that some fans are considering is that it was decided that this would not actually be Goldberg's last match as originally planned, and that he will go on to either face Brock Lesnar again or perhaps someone else like the recently-returned The Undertaker.

Goldberg versus Brock Lesnar, the mega showdown WWE fans have been long waiting for is finally here.

After all, Lesnar and McMahon have a history dating back to SummerSlam with the latter even saying that it wasn't over between the two.
