Putin to NBC's Kelly: Russian Election Interference 'Wouldn't Make Sense'

"Good job. Your lives must be boring", said Putin.

Kelly continued to push Putin.

The Russian leader, a former KGB intelligence officer, is not given to unguarded moments or admissions of guilt.

In a move right out of Kellyanne Conway's book, he then deflected by conflating those accusations with the conspiracy theory that the USA government was involved in President John F. Kennedy's assassination in 1963.

"There is a theory that Kennedy's assassination was arranged by the United States intelligence services".

"There were no meetings", Putin said through an interpreter.

Though a secret communications line was never established, the report raises questions amidst accusations that President Donald Trump and his team colluded with Russian Federation circulate.

PUTIN: I don't know about this proposal.

"I want to say that Russian Federation is developing along a democratic path".

"That's it", Putin said.

"It's just that French journalists asked me about those hackers". And proceeded to turn that sensation into a tool for fighting the sitting president.

"Why, did we have some special relationship with him?" he asked Kelly.

In December 2015, President Putin and Mr Flynn attended the gala dinner in honour of Russia's RT television network.

Putin denied that he had any knowledge of such encounters, at first telling Kelly that there "were no meetings" before clarifying that he had not been informed because there was "nothing to even talk about". The public hearing is expected to shed light on his private conversations with Mr Trump in the weeks before his dismissal, including any discussion about the Flynn investigation.

'Why do you have the right to ask these questions?' Trump himself has been dogged by questions about any business dealings with Russia as well as reports of a damaging Russian dossier. Putin, slouched over in his seat, scoffed at the idea.

Mr Trump, who praised Mr Putin repeatedly during last year's presidential campaign, is facing multiple probes into the extent of any links to Russian Federation, and whether his campaign played any role in Russian Federation interfering with the election.

Putin simply dismissed the Kremlin's have compromising information on Trump, saying, "Are you all... Are you all. have you all lost your senses over there?"

Then why did the USA intelligence services say it was the Russians? He suggested Americans should stop moralizing, saying "Why do you feel you have the right to ask us these kinds of questions?" Do you think that from all over the world or from the United States the ambassador reports to me every day who he meets with or what they discuss there?

"Point your finger to any spot on the world's map, everywhere you'll hear complaints that American officials interfere in their political domestic processes".

Russian President Vladimir Putin dismisses the allegation that Russians meddled in the US election.

It does not sound like justification. "No one ever showed me any direct evidence", the Russian president told Kelly, adding that modern information technology allows people to "mask and camouflage" any hacking attack in a way so that no one would ever be able to track its origin.
