MMA: Holm says McGregor can cause Mayweather problems

One of Floyd Mayweather's former sparring partners has labelled his lucrative August showdown with Conor McGregor a "whitewash" - and says the build-up will be better than the fight.

"THE FIGHT IS ON", McGregor tweeted minutes before Mayweather's post.

Mayweather, who retired in September 2015 after winning all 49 of his pro fights, will face the Irish UFC superstar at the T-Mobile arena on the Las Vegas Strip.

Meanwhile, Conor McGregor is the best that MMA has to offer and the first fighter in the history of the UFC who won held two championship belts at the same time. He's younger than the 40-year-old boxing legend, has a two-inch reach advantage and will be the heavier fighter when they step into the ring in 73 days. The contracted weight for the fight is 154 pounds.

"It would be the same thing if a fighter went into the octagon".

It was announced Wednesday that the UFC lightweight champion would take on Mayweather in a boxing match. We'll just have to wait and see if that's even close to enough to compete with one of the greatest boxers of all-time. "If it happens both guys will make a lot of money, but Mayweather wins".

The fight has the potential to be the richest in history, with many claiming that Mayweather vs. McGregor has a net worth of over $1 billion.

McGregor's agent, Audie Attar, said McGregor is committed to boxing only in this fight. I can see him doing it. "He knows Conor McGregor is coming after him and Floyd's looking to get him up out of there, too".

It's being speculated that both men will be paid a staggering $100 million each for the fight to be aired on pay-per-view TV.
