Trump confirms that he is being investigated for firing FBI Director

Attorney Steve Ryan says Friday that Michael Cohen plans on cooperating "in all governmental inquiries".

The order from the general counsel for the transition team casts a wide net on documents that could shed light on ties between Trump's presidential campaign and representatives of Russia's government.

Did he tell Congress the full story about Mr. Mueller's investigation? Cohen has worked for Trump since the mid-2000s and was active in the campaign.

Several news reports said Mueller plans to interview key USA national security officials about Trump's comments seeking an end to the investigation of contacts his first national security adviser, Michael Flynn, had with Russia's ambassador to Washington, Sergey Kislyak. Coats told associates that Trump asked him whether he could intervene with Comey to get the Federal Bureau of Investigation to back off its focus on Flynn, the officials said.

In a tweet Thursday morning, Trump, who has been putting together his own team of outside lawyers to represent him, called the Post's report Wednesday that he is being investigated for collusion "phony".

President seems to have acknowledged this as fact today in a tweet.

The transition official said the organization has also separately asked the General Services Administration to preserve records from the Trump transition that were transferred to its facilities after the inauguration.

Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats has met with the Senate Intelligence Committee for more than three hours in a closed session as part of the panel's probe into Russian interference in USA elections.

Rosenstein, in office for less than two months, is the top Justice official overseeing the probe because Attorney General Jeff Sessions has recused himself. But then Rosenstein made the surprise move to appoint Robert Mueller as special counsel to lead the Russian Federation investigation, a development that people close to Sessions and Trump believe has worsened matters for everyone involved. Pence headed the Trump transition until Inauguration Day.

According to multiple media sources, Mueller has arranged for Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats, National Security Agency Director Adm. Michael Rogers and former Deputy NSA Director Rick Ledgett to be interviewed as early as this week by his investigators.

The transition official spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to discuss post-election decisions publicly.

President Donald Trump appeared to confirm Friday that he is under investigation for obstruction of justice, claiming that he is being investigated for firing FBI Director James Comey by the man who told him to do it.

Trump's strategy for tweeting about what has become an obstruction of justice investigation focused on him is unclear.

But his tweets virtually ensure that the political focus swings back to the Russian Federation scandal.

The White House has been directing all questions related to this to Trump's personal attorney Marc Kasowitz.

US employers pulled back on hiring in May by adding only 138,000 jobs, though the gains were enough to help nudge the unemployment rate down to a 16 year-low. "Regardless of the recommendation, I was going to fire Comey".

Apparently, Trump believes (or knows?) the report to be correct. He also has millions of followers on his official Facebook pages.

Vice President Mike Pence has reportedly hired his own personal lawyer to deal with matters relating to the Russian Federation investigation.

In another tweet posted about two hours earlier on Friday morning, Trump, for the second consecutive day, went directly after DOJ's Russian Federation probe, which now includes an examination of whether the president obstructed justice when asking Comey to drop a probe of his first national security adviser, Michael Flynn, or by firing Comey.

The special counsel appointed to investigate Russian influence in the 2016 presidential campaign has met with a Senate committee probing the same matter.

His comments follow revelations that special counsel Robert Mueller is examining whether Trump obstructed justice by firing FBI Director James Comey.
