Watch MS Dhoni Pacifies Angry Mohammad Shami

Why Indian cricket supporters must remember to applaud Pakistan in the final

Pakistan beat India by 180 runs and while we were gracious in our defeat, some fans never learn. The fan could be heard saying offensive phrases such as "Akkad toot gayi Kohli (Your pride has been broken Kohli)", "Rone ki aadat hai (You have a habit of crying)".

NDTV reported that soon after the conclusion of the post-match ceremony after the Champions Trophy Final at the Oval on Sunday, many Pakistani supporters mocked the Indian captain Virat Kohli along with a few other players, who didn't respond to the comments.

Shami stopped in is tracks, turned back and moved towards the fan to confront him. Seeing this, the ever-so-cool former India captain MS Dhoni came to the rescue and calmed down Shami, who is not known for such kind of behaviour. Though India had lost to Pakistan in Champions Trophy 2017 two times in the history of the tournament before the final. But Kohli and rest of the Indian team didn't react. And that has not gone down too well with the Pakistani fans.

Passions always run high during the India-Pakistan contest but one fan went a little overboard as the Indian cricketers made their way back to the pavilion. The losing side was returning to their dressing room when the crowd started insulting them.
