While many music videos have come and go, "Gangnam Style" has managed to hold the title for almost 5 years, which according to him, already "quite a record".

The music video for See You Again, the Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth song from 2015's Furious 7, has become the most viewed YouTube video.

By around midmorning PST this Tuesday, See You Again had clocked more than 2.896 billion views, Gangnam Style over 2.894 billion.

The Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth track featured in the movie Furious 7 as a tribute to Paul Walker who had died in a vehicle accident two years prior.

Gangnam Style was the first video to reach one billion views on YouTube, forcing the video hosting service to upgrade its counter limits.

Some others argue that "See You Again" deserves to be the No. 1 video on YouTube. Now he's featured on the most successful YouTube video of all time. No more. Another music video, the song "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, has taken the crown. It broke Psy's record just days before the video's fifth-year anniversary on YouTube.

"See You Again" has now squeaked ahead by a fairly insignificant million views, but unless people suddenly get hit by a wave of nostalgia for PSY's colourful antics, it's safe to say that the lead will only continue to grow.

Wiz Khalifa said: "I'm super excited and grateful to everyone who supported the song and video on YouTube, and happy to inspire and impact so many lives". If you add the numbers up, you'll notice the video's been watched for 21,759 years.
