US Ambassador to Israel condemns Halamish attack

Two Jordanians have been killed and one Israeli wounded in a shooting incident in a building within the Israeli embassy complex in Jordan's capital, Amman.

A Jordanian was killed and an Israeli seriously wounded in a shooting on Sunday at the Jewish state's embassy in Amman, a security source and the police said.

"The crisis has reminded the world that there would be no security or stability in the Middle East without finding a fair solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict", the minister told his peers.

"The Jordanian Ambassador to Israel arrived at the Foreign Ministry this morning and was asked to assist on the matter". He says "a weight has been lifted from my heart" and thanked the Israeli government for bringing him home.

On Friday, thousands of Jordanians took to the streets to protest the situation in Jerusalem.

Israel has already agreed to pay damages to the family of the landlord who was killed during the terror attack.

In response to Netanyahu's praise for the guard, whom the prime minister said acted "calmly", the Jordanian King, Abdullah II, announced to senior Jordanian officials that Netanyahu must "guarantee the trial of the murderer", AP reported.

Jordan is the custodian of the Muslim shrine and was involved in behind-the-scenes negotiations to end the latest escalation. It has always been a flashpoint of anti-Israeli protests at times of turmoil in the Palestinian territories.

They also insisted that Jordan shred to pieces a highly unpopular peace treaty signed between Amman and Tel Aviv in 1994, according to Press TV.
