The Los Angeles Clippers signed Danilo Gallinari this offseason to a three-year deal worth a bit more than $64 million. The stretch forward got into a scrum with Jito Kok of the Netherlands, and Gallinari threw a punch that connected with Kok's face.

Gallinari reportedly had to go to the hospital to get his hand examined, but the severity of his injury is not yet known.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski added on Twitter that Gallinari isn't expected to need any surgery to fix the fracture and that the team expects him to be ready for training camp.

Gallinari's new teammate, Blake Griffin, missed significant time in 2016 when he punched a Clippers' equipment manager.

The Italian federation wrote on Twitter that Gallinari fractured the first metacarpal on his right hand and that the estimated recovery time was 40 days.
