Poll Shows 'Troubling Trail Of New Lows' For Trump

Just 22 percent of voters in the new poll said Trump and congressional Republicans should repeal all of ObamaCare. Six months in, Trump had the worst approval rating of any president since modern polling began.

Rasmussen Reports, a right-learning polling service that Trump typically cites as being the most accurate, showed Trump with his lowest rating yet.

Known for its exactness and thoroughness, the Quinnipiac poll is featured regularly in The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and on national network news broadcasts.

80 - 15 percent of American voters said they disapprove of the way Republicans in Congress are handling healthcare.

"Profound embarrassment over his performance in office and deepening concern over his levelheadedness have to raise the biggest red flags", he said.

Fifty-seven percent of respondents said they think Trump is abusing the office of the presidency and 60 percent say they believe Trump thinks he is above the law. In late June, 84% of Republicans approved of Trump's performance - now, 76% of Republicans say the same.

Americans are increasingly dissatisfied with President Trump's on-the-job performance, according to new polls out this week. FiveThirtyEight, the polling website spearheaded by statistician Nate Silver, estimated that Rasmussen had a mean-reverted bias that skewed conservative by two percentage points. That surpassed his previous unwanted benchmarks of 57 percent negative and 34 percent positive ratings in a June Quinnipiac poll.

The poll of 1,125 voters, conducted July 27-Aug. Only 2 percent of liberals approve of how Trump is handling his job.

The June 28 national poll found US voters reject GOP health plan more than 3-1; voters support gun background checks 94-5 percent.

Last week was a bad week for Donald Trump, and now that the approval rating numbers have been released, it seems as though voters have been paying attention and expressed their opinions over the many issues on the table.

"Voters say a soldier is a soldier, no matter what his/her gender identity is", Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac poll, said in a statement released with the survey results.
