Chelsea demands Diego Costa report to training

Diego Costa's bond with Atletico Madrid means he will only move to the La Liga side

Diego Costa insists he is feeling the love of his Chelsea team-mates despite being frozen out of Antonio Conte's plans this season.

The Brazilian-born Spain worldwide, who joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in 2014, said if the club did not allow him to move before the transfer window he was prepared to see out his contract unpaid in Brazil.

It is claimed that the capital outfit have docked Costa two weeks wages, equating to approximately £300,000, for failing to report for pre-season training last month. Cahill and Fabregas are now banned for the Premier League match against Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday, heaping pressure on a small squad.

But such a scenario is not acceptable to Chelsea, who want Costa to return to training and put himself in contention for selection.

He revealed this week his treatment by the Blues left him feeling like a "criminal", and was willing to stay in Brazil until he was sold - preferably back to Atletico Madrid.

However, Conte remains unconvinced by Michy Batshuayi and wants to add more firepower to his squad in the form of Belotti, according to the Daily Star.

"I am open to being a year in Brazil without playing, even if Chelsea fine me for a year and don't pay me".

"As soon as they don't want to be there, they don't turn up". They really love me for the person I am. He continued, saying that he doesn't doubt Conte's ability as a manager, but rather as a communicator: "I respect him as a great coach".

"Klopp will probably have to concede to the owners, 'if you are going to get rid of him, please let me have this one, let me have that one". I wouldn't be allowed access to the first-team dressing room and I would have no contact at all with the guys.

"They gave me a week extra off but since then it's fines all the way".

"I was told how Conte treated Mikel after his decision to represent Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics".

Speaking on talkSPORT, Barton said: "If I'm Liverpool or Everton I'm doing everything I can to sign Diego Costa".
