State senator calls for Trump's assassination in quickly deleted Facebook post

State senator under fire for calling for Trumps assassination on Facebook news Chappelle Nadal official

Sen. Claire McCaskill, one of the most vulnerable Red State incumbent Democrats, along with the chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party, have called on her to resign.

"The St. Louis Field Office of the Secret Service is looking into the comments", Secret Service spokesperson Cathy Milhoan said in a statement to CNN.

It didn't take her long to rethink the decision and delete inflammatory.

Trump took to Twitter on August 18 to call out Democrats for not being tougher on security. "I believe she should resign". If her fellow Democrats can't convince her to resign, then her colleagues in the Missouri legislature need to act to expel her.

As for any ethics investigation, Peters says it could happen even before lawmakers go back to Jefferson City and would require a simple majority vote by senators to remove her from office.

"Out of my anger and frustration, I put up a post that I should not have put up", Chappelle-Nadal said.

"Damn", Gagné wrote, "now I'll probably get a visit from the secret service smdh".

Chappelle-Nadal's comment was completely out of line. She was specifically frustrated with the domestic terror attack at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville. "It was in response to the concerns that I am hearing from residents of St. Louis".

Chappelle-Nadal says she won't resign. "I do not think that's the message we want to send to people of Missouri". "It's outrageous and she should resign".

The furious responses from Chappelle-Nadal's own party might at least partly reflect her history of internal political strife as an outspoken critic of people on both sides of the aisle.

5 On Your Side interviewed Chappelle-Nadal after the post was deleted.

"They are creating cover for the president instead of dealing with the real issues at hand", Chappelle-Nadal said. Other state Democratic leaders calling for Chappelle-Nadal to step down include House Democratic Caucus Chair Gina Walsh and State Representative Josh Peters. "No one is going to speak for African-Americans like I do". She was active in protests in Ferguson, Missouri, after the fatal police shooting of Michael Brown in 2014. However, if she does not do so by veto session, I will, in my position as President of the Missouri Senate, immediately seek her expulsion pursuant to Article III, Section 18 of the Missouri Constitution.
