Transfer records tumble as Oxlaide-Chamberlain joins Liverpool from Arsenal

Arsenal: Arsene Wenger Could See Nightmare Exodus at Emirates on Deadline Day

Now with England, Oxlade-Chamberlain admits that he is keen to focus on playing well with the national team at the moment, but admits that he can't wait to join his new club once he returns from England duties.

"We won that game but lost the return match at Arsenal when he started and played well, I think he hit the post".

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was among those to welcome Oxlade-Chamberlain to Anfield... "This is a terrific blow to Arsenal, but I'm not sure it's good for Alex himself".

Jurgen Klopp says he has been watching Liverpool's new signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for almost three years.

However, Liverpool boss Klopp was quick to highlight Oxlade-Chamberlain's versatility but refused to assign the new signing to one position. Yes he is a quality player but it's obvious he wants to leave.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has made more than 130 Premier League appearances for Arsenal since 2011.

Oxlade-Chamberlain wrote on Instagram: "After six years, three FA Cup wins and countless incredible memories, the time has come for me to move on from Arsenal".

He was also on fellow London club Chelsea's radar but chose to turn down the move due to The Blues' insistence on playing him on the wing as he looks to play in a team in central midfield.

"I am really, really happy we have got Alex signed", Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told the team website.

Oxlade-Chamberlain joins Kieran Gibbs in leaving the Emirates Stadium in the past 48 hours after the full-back moved to West Brom on Wednesday.

The German described Oxlade-Chamberlain as a "positive" player who is "willing to take risks" and "has the mentality and desire to get even better".

The former Reds captain also suggested the 24-year-old decided on the move because he had become unhappy with life at his previous club.
