SJW: Are Michael Flynn And His Son Mueller's Next Indictment Targets?

NBC News: Mueller has enough to bring charges in Flynn investigation

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigators have enough evidence now to bring criminal charges against President Donald Trump's former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, and Flynn's son, NBC News reported Sunday, citing sources.

Sources "familiar with the investigation" say Flynn, who was sacked after just 24 days, and his son could be implicated in the probe into Russia's intervention in last year's election, according to NBC News.

Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn served as Trump's national security adviser for just 24 days until he was forced to quit due to accusations he had contact with Russia's ambassador to the United States and misled the White House about the conversations.

According to NBC, Michael T. Flynn is being investigated for potential charges of money laundering and lying to federal officials about his foreign connections, NBC explained. They are former campaign manager Paul Manafort, and former campaign aides Rick Gates and George Papadopoulos.

Mike Flynn is also at the heart of the obstruction of justice investigation into Trump. Alptekin is also the head of Inovo, a consulting firm. Flynn Sr. was paid $530,000 for lobbying work benefiting Turkey, and only registered as foreign agent retroactively.

If he is charged, Mr Flynn would be the fourth person to face prosecution as part of Mr Mueller's investigation.

Flynn's op-ed seemed out of place amid his work with Trump's campaign. It remained unclear Sunday if Mueller had plans to pursue charges against Flynn or his son.

The evidence relates to Flynn's lobbying work throughout the latter half of 2016 - while he was a top Trump campaign surrogate - for a businessman with ties to the Turkish government. Lawyers for the Flynn family did not comment to NBC on the news.

A former business associate of Michael Flynn's told NBC News that Flynn Jr. had a prominent role in Flynn Intel Group's day-to-day operations and served as his father's chief of staff. The FBI pushed back against the request because there was no new information.
