Google Pixel 2 XL Faces Problem with Slow Charging on a Fast Charging Device

It doesn't happen on the Pixel 2 but only on the bigger variant. The new phones, especially the Pixel 2 XL, looked to build upon the success of the original Pixel, but instead they have been repeatedly crashing and burning due to unforeseen issues. Most of the Pixel 2 devices users have reported random Android Auto crashes. There is a bit of good news, though: in that very same Google Product Forums thread, one user by the name of Adam Zeird has presented a workaround that seems to be working for some people, and it comes straight from the retro gamer's playbook. They just start to produce grey color hue.

Some users even have reported a unusual screen flashing which happens when you lock or unlock the phone. The user notes that performing a safe mode or a factory reset does not help.

The issue seems to occur in a variety of different scenarios and causes the screen to produce a sudden flash. It will be interesting to see how Google is going to respond to the new issue.

In December will the next update for flagships from Google. Android Police adds that some Nexus 6P users who upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo recently are reporting similar screen flashing.

The new software update will feature several modifications to the smartphone's P-OLED screen.

Some Pixel 2 owners have reported unresponsive microphones during calls or while using voice assistant.

The company is also reportedly working on a December security patch, tipped to offer even more enhancements. Users speculate that the issue on Pixel 2 and select Pixel 2 XL units are hardware related. A user also compared this to blowing into an old NES cartridge to get it to work again. I have had the same exact symptoms as everyone here so it may be for us all.

Many users have claimed that by simply blowing on the microphone, you can fix the problem to some degree.
