During the meeting, McDowell spoke of his frustration with "other white supremacists " who simply shouted "white power". In recent years, Hernandez, 56, told police that he had suffocated the boy and put his body in a cardboard box. However, his first trial ended in a hung jury in 2015. "We believe that this is the individual responsible". Pedro Hernandez was first arrested in 2012 and charged with Etan's killing. They, instead, tried to convince jurors that Hernandez was indeed telling the truth, though they acknowledged that the details of his confessions did not always match up. (more...)

Acting Army Secretary Robert Speer on Tuesday ordered a review of the Army's earlier decision not to grant permission until more study was done. My response to the letter from a man who complained that his vote in the presidential election did not count is this: Hillary Clinton won two-thirds of the popular vote in California but got 100 percent of the Electoral College votes. 435 House electoral votes are allocated to the states. And size alone says nothing about how a state votes for president.
